Our story
Professional music
with a purpose.
Founded in 2010, The LCO is a Florida-registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit performing arts organization dedicated to creating professional opportunities for musicians, supporting local artists and student education, and bringing innovative LIVE music experiences to Central Florida.
Under the artistic leadership of Maestro Rick Kissinger, The LCO's flexible musical model moves across jazz, big band, classical, Broadway, Latin, polka, pop, circus, vaudeville, marches, and world music—often with a distinctive Roaring Twenties aesthetic and hallmark vintage attire.
What's in a name?
LCO is a playful reference to the “Licorice Stick,” a historic nickname for the clarinet—not the candy. That playful spirit still shapes imaginative, customized performances for concerts, festivals, weddings, corporate events, theme parks, educational programs, and community celebrations.
